REFERRAL INFORMATION
for practitioners
As eye care practitioners we all strive to do our very best for our patients.
To our optometry colleagues, we understand that myopia control treatment options available to you to prescribe where you practise may be limited. Whether you're in an independent practice or in a corporate setting, you are always welcome to refer patients to this clinic for myopia assessment and management.
If you have a progressive myopic patient who you believe requires myopia management, or would like an opinion as to which treatment option may be best for your patient, or perhaps previous treatment attempts to slow progression have not had the desired effect, we are more than happy to help. Axial length measurement with ultrasound A-Scan is a standard part of our assessment for myopic children, which as you would appreciate is an essential part of myopia progression monitoring and for assessing the risks of myopia-related eye disease due to axial elongation. Together we can help the children of Melbourne receive the myopia care and treatment they need to best preserve their eyesight. Other services that our clinic can offer to your patients include monitoring of irregular corneal conditions with topography, advanced RGP lens fitting for keratoconus, the fitting of scleral and mini-scleral lenses, dry eye management, and Ortho K fitting for both children and adults.
HOW TO REFER
Please include in your referral, if available, a brief history of the patient's refractive changes, the type/s of vision correction and any previous myopia control treatments prescribed, to help establish a clinical picture of your patient's myopic condition. You will receive a comprehensive report following your patient's attendance and assessment. To make the referral process easier, you may also print and complete our Patient Referral Form. QUESTIONS?
