MYOPIA CONTROL GLASSES
近視控制眼鏡鏡片

Glasses options are available to control myopia progression too.

Myopia control glasses are specially designed lenses with unique optics made to help slow progression.

While myopia control glasses are generally not as effective as the other treatment options — Ortho-K, multifocal contact lenses and atropine eye drops — they are more beneficial than regular single vision glasses that have no myopia control benefits. The glasses option can be good for children who might not be suitable for other treatments, perhaps too young for contact lenses, or simply prefer to remain in glasses.
ESSILOR MYOPILUX

Myopilux lenses, available in two designs – Myopilux Max and Myopilux Plus – are effective spectacle lens solutions for controlling kids’ myopia. Myopilux lenses are relatively new to Australia but have successfully been worn by kids in countries such as Singapore for over 5 years.

Myopilux Max is a prismatic bifocal lens, meaning there is a continuous dividing line across the lens between the upper section for far distance and the lower section for reading. Unlike a regular D-seg ('half circle') bifocal lens, this provides the widest field of vision for a myopic child and the greatest myopia control effect in a spectacle lens.

Myopilux Plus is a progressive addition lens (a 'no-line' multifocal lens) specially designed for kids, taking into account the eye anatomy, facial anatomy and ergonomics. This lens offers a wide range of vision and provides posture comfort. It may be better cosmetically than the the Myopilux Max bifocal lens, but its myopia control effect is less.

Both lenses come in a wide range of materials in clear as well as photochromatic Transitions lenses, with Crizal Prevencia anti-reflective coating to protect against blue light from digital devices an optional feature.

These bifocal and progressive lenses help control myopia progression by reducing the effort needed to focus up close, for reading, schoolwork and digital devices. This relaxes the eye's focusing muscles, helping them to focus more comfortably and efficiently. Myopia control glasses are more effective in kids with eye teaming and near focusing difficulties.
